Spec Lab Detailing: a website that books the work in

7 min read · Published 2026-10-08

The problem

A mobile car detailing and ceramic coating business wins work on trust and speed. The customer wants to see real jobs, know the price band and get an answer before the next business on the search results page responds. Spec Lab Detailing had the skills and the calendar. What it did not have was a place that sold while the owner was under a bonnet.

Enquiries arrived through messages and phone calls mid-job, so replies waited until the day was done. Quotes needed car details and photos, which meant more rounds of messaging. Prices, reviews and past work lived in three different places.

What the business actually needed

We settled the question before any page was designed. The site has two jobs: be found by people searching for detailing in metro Melbourne and take the work in without phone tag. Every decision followed from that, and anything that served neither job did not make the build.

What we built

  • A website built around services and prices. Every service, price band and coating brand laid out for a phone, with the quote form never more than a tap away.
  • Live work galleries. Real jobs photographed and added as the work gets done, so the proof grows on its own.
  • Search and answer engine foundations, so search engines and AI assistants read the site the right way.
  • Quote and booking intake with photos. Customers send the car details and up to four photos and get an automatic confirmation at any hour.
  • Google reviews loaded live from the business profile, including an honest note about the name the business traded under before.

Going live without disrupting the week

The site went live with intake already wired in, so the first enquiry landed as a confirmed request with photos attached. Prices and reviews are read from source, which means they stay current without anyone editing pages. The owner keeps detailing cars and the site keeps working.

What changed

The outcomes below come from this deployment.

  • Quote and booking intake now runs 24/7.
  • Customer confirmations and photo uploads are instant.
  • Reviews and prices stay live, read from source.
  • Search and AI visibility is built in rather than bolted on later.

Work arrives while the day is being spent on cars, and it arrives qualified: the car details and photos are already there.

If this sounds familiar

Most trade and service businesses do not have a marketing problem. They have a capture problem. The demand is there and the work is good, but the enquiries land where nobody is watching. A site built to take work in fixes that without another hour in your day.
